Pottery & Kintsugi Workshops in London
- 2 workshops
- From £50
- Materials included
Two ways to work with ceramics in Battersea. Pottery painting hands you two blank pieces, a full palette and 2 hours to decorate them. Kintsugi is the quieter one: the Japanese practice of repairing broken pottery with gold, so the crack becomes the most beautiful part of the object rather than the thing you hide.

Good to know
Is there a pottery wheel?
No, and there is no clay throwing here. There are two other ways to work with ceramics instead: paint a ready-made piece chosen from our shelves on the day, or repair one with gold in the kintsugi session.
Do you fire the pieces in a kiln?
No, there is no kiln on site. Painted pottery is sealed with an instant food-safe glaze instead, in gloss or matte.
Can I eat and drink out of it afterwards?
A painted mug or plate, yes, the glaze is food-safe. A kintsugi bowl, no: the repair uses epoxy, so the finished piece is one to display rather than serve from.
When do I take it home?
Kintsugi pieces are packed up for you at the end of the session. Painted pottery is best collected later the same day or next day so the glaze can dry, and we keep pieces in the studio for up to seven days if that is easier.

Booking for a group?
Any of these workshops can be run privately for a team, a birthday, or a hen party, at a time that suits you.
