About this workshop

Discover the timeless Japanese art of Kintsugi, where broken pottery is transformed into something even more beautiful than before. Repair and celebrate a ceramic piece using shimmering mineral-based mica powders and epoxy, creating a meaningful keepsake that symbolises resilience, renewal, and the beauty of imperfection.

Experience the centuries-old Japanese philosophy of Kintsugi, an art form that embraces imperfections rather than hiding them. Instead of disguising cracks and fractures, Kintsugi celebrates them, transforming broken pottery into something uniquely beautiful while reminding us that every journey, every challenge, and every repair becomes part of our story.

During this immersive workshop, you'll choose from over 50 Japanese-inspired ceramic bowls and plates, each carefully selected to reflect the elegance and simplicity of traditional Japanese design. Guided by our experienced instructors, you'll carefully repair your chosen ceramic piece using professional-grade epoxy before highlighting every repaired seam with shimmering mineral-based mica powders, creating the signature golden finish that has made Kintsugi admired around the world.

As you work through the process, you'll learn not only the practical techniques behind this remarkable craft but also the philosophy that inspires it. Kintsugi encourages us to see strength in vulnerability, beauty in imperfection, and value in the things we choose to repair rather than replace. Every repaired line becomes a reminder that what has been broken can become even more meaningful.

This workshop offers a calm, mindful, and deeply rewarding creative experience. Whether you're looking for a thoughtful afternoon, a memorable date, a meaningful gift, or simply a chance to slow down and create something truly special, Kintsugi provides an experience that stays with you long after the workshop ends.

All materials are included, including your Japanese-inspired ceramic piece, professional epoxy, premium mineral-based mica powders, protective equipment, tools, and everything required to complete your artwork. No previous experience is necessary, and our instructors will guide you through every step with care.

By the end of the workshop, you'll leave with a beautifully restored ceramic piece that is not only functional but also serves as a lasting symbol of resilience, craftsmanship, and the beauty found in embracing life's imperfections.

Good to know

What is Kintsugi?

Kintsugi is a traditional Japanese art of repairing broken ceramics by celebrating, rather than hiding, the repaired cracks. It symbolises resilience, renewal, and finding beauty in imperfection.

What type of ceramics can I choose from?

We offer a collection of more than 50 Japanese-inspired ceramic bowls, allowing you to choose the piece that speaks to you.

What materials do you use?

We use professional-grade epoxy together with premium mineral-based mica powders to create the beautiful metallic finish that defines the Kintsugi technique.

Do I need any previous experience?

Not at all. This workshop is beginner-friendly, and our instructors will guide you through every stage of the repair and finishing process.

Is my repaired piece food-safe?

No. Because we use epoxy as part of the restoration process, your finished piece should be enjoyed as a decorative object rather than used for serving food or drinks.

Can I take my Kintsugi piece home on the same day?

Yes. Your piece will be carefully packaged for you to take home after the workshop, although we recommend handling it gently while the adhesive completes its final cure.
