About this workshop

Paint and texture a sculptural plaster surface for art with real depth - drink in hand, no experience needed.

Bring a tactile, sculptural quality to your art with the help of plaster. In this hands-on session you'll work on a plaster surface rather than a flat canvas, building texture and depth you simply can't get any other way. It's a wonderful pick for beginners and experienced artists alike, with room to play with colour, surface and technique.

With a complimentary drink in hand, your instructor walks you through the whole process - prepping and texturing the surface, then layering paint to bring it to life. There's gentle guidance at every stage so you can shape your vision while you relax into it.

The atmosphere is calm, friendly and inspiring, with nibbles to keep you going. You'll leave with a striking, one-of-a-kind plaster artwork that's ready to display proudly or give as a special gift.

Good to know

What is modelling paste?

Modelling paste is a high-quality artist's medium used to create raised textures and three-dimensional designs on canvas. Once dry, it becomes hard and durable.

What can I create?

You can create abstract textures, waves, flowers, botanical designs, geometric patterns, minimalist artwork, or completely original compositions. Our instructors will demonstrate a variety of techniques to inspire you.

Do I need any previous experience?

No. This workshop is beginner-friendly, and our instructors will guide you through the techniques step by step.

Can I take my artwork home on the same day?

No. The modelling paste requires time to dry fully. Your artwork will usually be ready for collection a day after the workshop, and we'll keep it in the studio for up to 7 days once it's ready.

What size canvas will I receive?

Each participant receives one 30x40cm stretched canvas to create their textured artwork.

What materials are included?

We provide everything you'll need, including a stretched canvas, premium modelling paste, palette knives, spatulas, sculpting tools, acrylic paints, aprons, and all other workshop materials.
